Great Persecution Part 5, 1. Stand in the word of God

What God expects the church to do now ???

1.      Stand in the word of God :

God’s word is so powerful as it is written in the book of Mark  13:31 …but my words shall not pass away. And in the book of Isaiah,  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11,the words which will never change. God expects the church to stand on his words which are His promises. As written in the book of Joshua 1:9 and 5, Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. And, There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Joshua 1:5 And God said these words to his saints and they trusted and followed his ways. We should always meditate these words in our daily life, so that we also can walk like them in all the situations. Psalm 1:2 says, But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And it is not just meditating but every word of God should be written in our heart. When the word of God gets in our heart, it will change from a stony heart to a fleshy heart.

write them upon the table of thine heart: Proverbs 3:3

not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 2 Corinthians 3:3

write it in their hearts; Jeremiah 31:33

When the word of God dwells in our heart we will become stronger in faith and we can progress in our eternal journey. God has given us Holy Spirit. God helps us remember all the verses through His Holy Spirit. Ezekiel 36:27 says, And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.  And John 2:22 says, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

The righteous man Noah was very careful in obeying God’s command, he did everything that God said to him. And God saw this man’s obedience and protected him from the destruction of the floods. Genesis 6:22 says, Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.  As a church, we also should stand and obey the word of God. We need not panic seeing the situations around us. The Lord himself walked on the water and helped His disciples who were struggling in the sea. ( Matthew 14:24) And again after His resurrection, He met His disciples and strengthened them that He is alive and He is with them.

And in the life righteous man Job who never sinned though he faced many persecutions, still kept the word of God. He believed God that he will redeem him, As he believed God, God changed his latter end. Job19:25 says For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:  We should believe the word of God so that we will have a hundredfold blessing in the world to come...

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. Mark 10:30.

and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:17
