Great Persecution Part 5, 1. Stand in the word of God

What God expects the church to do now ???

1.      Stand in the word of God :

God’s word is so powerful as it is written in the book of Mark  13:31 …but my words shall not pass away. And in the book of Isaiah,  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11,the words which will never change. God expects the church to stand on his words which are His promises. As written in the book of Joshua 1:9 and 5, Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. And, There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Joshua 1:5 And God said these words to his saints and they trusted and followed his ways. We should always meditate these words in our daily life, so that we also can walk like them in all the situations. Psalm 1:2 says, But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And it is not just meditating but every word of God should be written in our heart. When the word of God gets in our heart, it will change from a stony heart to a fleshy heart.

write them upon the table of thine heart: Proverbs 3:3

not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 2 Corinthians 3:3

write it in their hearts; Jeremiah 31:33

When the word of God dwells in our heart we will become stronger in faith and we can progress in our eternal journey. God has given us Holy Spirit. God helps us remember all the verses through His Holy Spirit. Ezekiel 36:27 says, And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.  And John 2:22 says, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

The righteous man Noah was very careful in obeying God’s command, he did everything that God said to him. And God saw this man’s obedience and protected him from the destruction of the floods. Genesis 6:22 says, Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.  As a church, we also should stand and obey the word of God. We need not panic seeing the situations around us. The Lord himself walked on the water and helped His disciples who were struggling in the sea. ( Matthew 14:24) And again after His resurrection, He met His disciples and strengthened them that He is alive and He is with them.

And in the life righteous man Job who never sinned though he faced many persecutions, still kept the word of God. He believed God that he will redeem him, As he believed God, God changed his latter end. Job19:25 says For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:  We should believe the word of God so that we will have a hundredfold blessing in the world to come...

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. Mark 10:30.

and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:17

Great Persecution Part - 4 Overcome

Overcome :

Lord Jesus says in the book of John 16:33, These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Our Lord was persecuted, tortured, scourged, smitten, laid crowns on the head, mocked, nailed on the cross, still He fulfilled the Father’s will. If our savior Lord Jesus Christ has faced so much, how much are we ??? If our savior has overcome this world, we, who follow him will also overcome this world.

Most of the disciples were martyred, they knew the consequences they will face, still, they had strong faith that they will overcome all these in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Even in the old testament, many prophets were killed, but they kept their faith in God. We can overcome these things by obeying God’s word and by His guidance. Acts 5:29 says, Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.  As Lord guided the disciples, even He will guide in these times of persecution. Fear God, we will overcome. Matthew 10:28 says, And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

We will overcome !!!

Great Persecution. Part -3 Trial of Faith

Trial of faith :

When we are in the time of persecution, it is the trial or test for every born again Christian. 1 Peter 1:7 says, That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:  This is the time to show the world that how much we love and have faith in our savior the Lord Jesus Christ. Our life is not greater than our Lord, who gave us this great salvation to be as His children, through His Son Lord Jesus Christ. Mark 8:35 says, For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. And in Habakkuk 2:4 says, but the just shall live by his faith. In the trial of faith, we need to look unto Lord Jesus Christ who lived in this world as testimony or life of example. 1 Peter 2:21 says, For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

He was not afraid of sufferings or death, he has always lived a life pleasing Father by doing His will. He had faith in the Father that he will never leave him alone. John 16:32 says, Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me, that strong faith made Him rise up on the third day. Same way in this trial of faith we need to look unto the Lord Jesus Christ that He should give us faith to follow His footsteps without any fear. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says, We having the same spirit of faith.. and 1 Corinthians 12:9 says To another faith by the same Spirit; On the Lord’s day  He will raise up us from the graves and will take us to the place he has prepared for us to give us eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25

And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. John 6:39

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:40

So, STAND IN FAITH.
